Air Force Launches New Uniform Web Site
They may not have to be fashion models, but the Air Force wants airmen to look sharp, and has launched a new Web portal that will dispense uniform pointers.
The new Web site, www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/dress/uniforms.asp, is an effort to provide timely updates to the service’s dress and appearance standards and policies that can be easily accessed by airmen stationed all over the world, the service said in a July 14 statement.
Putting the information on a public Web site ensures uniform changes and updates are readily available to the field, rather than waiting for updates to Air Force Instruction 36-2903, which is being revised, the service said. And, users can access it without the common access card, which is helpful for airmen researching uniform information from computers or smart phones off the military network, the service said.
“We wanted to create a place where all airmen can view any uniform combination in detail,” said Ruth Ewalt, the Air Force Uniforms and Recognition Branch director. “This eliminates confusing rumors about the latest versions of Air Force uniforms.”
The site features images of acceptable uniform combinations, ranging from the standard “blues” uniform to one acceptable for pregnant female airmen. It also has a FAQ page that provides detail on what is acceptable Air Force dress.
